This coffee table was designed and built as a memorial to my father who passed away some six years ago. The top is from a single piece of Padouk with bread board ends of Birds Eye Maple and shaped Ebony splines and inlayed Ebony butterflies. The two pedestals are made from Purple Heart, Birds Eye Maple and Blood Wood. 24 tear drops are carved into the pedestal wings. This was a healing and cathartic excursive that took close to a year off and on. I gave it to my oldest son on the occasion of his marriage.
