While boxes most certainly have functional capacity, they can and are becoming an Art Form unto itself.
Box Makers from around the world are coming together for the Celebrating Boxes Exhibit and Tour currently showing accross England and Scotland. This exhibit is presenting a rich diversity of contemporary work to promote the "Art" and "Craft" of Box Making.
Traveling around the world this show will be exposing the public to this beautifully intriguing Art Form. Whether traditional or wildly innovative, Boxes clearly bend the perimeters of function and in this medium are being formed and crafted as expressive art, and in a way not unlike painters take brush to canvas we as box makers carve, shape, inlay and wax our expressive potential. I am always creating new Boxes and vessels for display and sale in galleries.
These pieces will often stretch my limits so that I can continue to grow and explore as a creative artist and designer.
